Description
Deutsch: Grünrotgoldene Trikolore der Helvetischen Republik (1798–1803) mit dem Emblem Wilhelm Tell (mit Sohn, nach dem Apfelschuss) und der Devise "Freÿheit, Gleichheit". Bemalte Seide, 1,8 x 1,8 m. Sogenannte Älplerfahne: Geschenk Heinrich Zschokkes (1771–1848) an den Distrikt Stans (Nidwalden und Engelberg). Der Schriftsteller war 1799/1800 zuerst dort Regierungskommissär, dann im ganzen Kanton Waldstätten (Innerschweiz). "Mit Zschokkes Bewilligung durften die Nidwaldner nach einjährigem Unterbruch im Herbst 1799 wieder ihre Älplerchilbi feiern. Zu diesem Anlass schenkte Zschokke ihnen jene helvetische Fahne, die noch heute im Nidwaldner Museum in Stans zu sehen ist; ein Zeichen für Stans und die Innerschweiz, das Verhältnis zur Helvetik neu zu überdenken {…)" (Werner Ort: Zschokke, Baden 2013, S. 291)
