Deutsch: Das Grundprinzip der ebenen Triangulation: Von zwei verschiedenen Stationen an den Positionen und wird der zu bestimmende Objektpunkt angepeilt. Dabei erhält man die beiden Winkel und mit der Genauigkeit und . Unter Kenntnis der Basislänge kann man dann die Koordinaten von relativ zum Koordinatenursprung bestimmen. Das Messvolumen des Gesamtsystems ist das Schnittvolumen der Messvolumina der Einzel-Messsysteme.
