Title
English: Trestle and powerhouse on Leschi cable car line, ca. 1905
Description
English: Seattle's Yesler Street cable car ran from Pioneer Square to Leschi Park on Lake Washington. Near Leschi, the cars dropped 200 feet on an inclined wooden trestle. The powerhouse for the cable which pulled the trolleys stood at the foot of the trestle. Once the trolley passengers got to Leschi, they could spend the day at Leschi Park or take a steamboat across the lake.

This photo, taken about 1905, shows the Leschi cable car trestle and the powerhouse on the shore of Lake Washington.
