Description
English: Trent and Mersey Canal near Shardlow, Derbyshire The canal was built between the years 1766 and 1777, initially engineered by James Brindley. Here it was completed by 1770 and follows the flat bottomed Trent Valley towards Shardlow, and Derwent Mouth where the canal ends.
