Summary

The image File:Treaty of Lisbon ratification.svg reflects and is updated (supposedly at least) when heads of state sign ratification instruments. Signing ratification instruments is only the penultimate step in the ratification process. The ultimate step is lodgement with the Italian government who act as the treaty depositary for all EU treaties. Moreover not all heads of state are involved in ratifying treaties at all. The Swedish king never signed any ratification instrument as this is not part of the ratification process in Sweden.

This image is for occasional use when there a short time lag between signature and ratification. I can't promise that it will always be updated when it should be as I am only infrequently on Wikipedia these days. Blue-Haired Lawyer (talk) 15:57, 17 October 2009 (UTC)
