Jersey City, opposite New York, isreached by several lines of ferries, has apopulation of about 90,000, and is thetermini of many railroads. Newark, nine miles from New York,is the largest city in New Jersey, and con-tains about 110,000 inhabitants. It haslarge churches, excellent schools, andextensive manufactories. Paterson, fifteen miles from NewYork, is famous for its manufactories.Here also are the Passaic Falls, a roman-tic cascade much admired. Orange, four miles from Newark, is acharming locality.
