[edit]DescriptionTraverse a river of Philippines 1917 (1917 by Elstner Hilton).jpg |
OK - this is one of the photos in Uncle Elstner's Japan album that clearly wasn't taken in Japan. This scene has a definite "Indiana Jones" feel to it. I guess when there are no roads, it's simpler to traverse the river than to hack one's way through the forest. And, of course, even if there is a trail, there's no bridge, making it necessary to wade through the river to reach the other side. I am going to keep this photo in my "Japan 1914 - 1918" set because that is how Uncle Elstner chose to organize his photos. |
