A general purification of religiouslife and a higher standard of theological attainmentsliave followed this change, and though difficulties some-times arise, as at Mostar last year, the Orthodox clergyis yearly becoming better educated—a great advantagein an Eastern country where religion plays such a largepart in all the relations of hfe.
