| Description | Photo shows the full length of a transverse joint keyway as seen at the FHWA, Highways for LIFE showcase with Florida DOT District 5 office. Pavement sections are comprised of panels post tensioned together. The post-tensioning ducts are spliced with a (yellow) heat shrink wrap, which can in the photo. Afterwards the keyways are filled with non-shrink grout flush with the pavement surface. |
