«3 NOTES ON KINLET. By the Rev. J. B. BLAKEWAY, M.A., F.S.A., Vicar of Kinlet.Edited and Illustrated by Mrs. BALDWYN CHILDE. Preface. The Rev. John Brickdale Blakeway was Vicar of Kinletfrom 1800 to 1816. He was born in 1765, the son ol JoshuaBlakeway, Esq., of Shrewsbury, by his wife Elizabeth,daughter of Matthew Brickdale, M.P. for Bristol. He wascalled to the Bar in 1789, went the Oxford Circuit, and wasordained in 1793. Besides being Vicar of Kinlet, he wasVicar of St. Marys, Shrewsbury, and Official of the Peculiar;Vicar of Neen Savage and Rector of Felton. He died at theCouncil House in Shrewsbury, 1826. The following Notes, written during 16 years of hisresidence at Kinlet, on many separate sheets of paper, havebeen bound in a book 6 or 7 inches square, and are preservedin the Bodleian Library at Oxford. Much difficulty inediting them has arisen from the manner in which the sheetshave been bound, often mixing the subjects in a most puzzlingmanner. The Topographical History of
