He was buried from there in 1777, andothers of the family in 1787. Nearly all the hamlets seem in the 17th century to havepossessed inhabitants of some standing. Beyond thosealread\ mentioned, we have in the registers Walter Heynesof Amaston, gentleman, who came from Berrington, andmarried Cislie Pickstoek in 1612, and left her a widow witha you lg family in 1634. At Bausley, we find Lionel Leightonin 1621, Richard Higgins, gentleman, in 1O35, and Mr.Thomas Colfox in 1656. (This last is said to be of Crewe-greene in 1653 and 1665). Later members of the Colfoxfamily were connected with Betton, and were brought fromthere to Alberbury for burial. In 1682 and onwards Mr.Richard Winfield was of Bausley, and William Perse, gentle-man, buried in 1711, was of Bausley. His wife Elizabethwas buried in 1686, but he is not called of Bausley till 1706.

He is accorded no prefix in 1704 in the entry ofhis own funeral, though he came of one of the oldest familiesin the parish.
