TOMB OF SIR CHRISTOPHER GUISE. Manor and Advowson of Brockworth. 163 The son of this William, another William, probably lived atBrockworth, as his children, William, Eleanor, and Frances werebaptized there 1621-26. Sir Christopher Guise, son of Sir William,lived at Brockworth, and died there Oct. 24th., 1670. Hismonument in the chancel, a bust enclosed in a wreath, is a fineexample of the sculptural work of the period. A woodcut ofthe monument is given on Plate XIX. The inscription upon itis as on the last page. Two children of the said Sir Christopher, by his first marriagewith Elizabeth, daughter of Sir Lawrence Washington, were bap-tized at Brockworth, Elizabeth in 166y, and Henry in 166^. Thelast entry I find recorded in the Parish Registers is of the LadyElizabeth Guise, widow and relict of Sir John Guise, Baronett,who was buried at Brockworth, July 21st, 1720.
