DESCRIPTION OF A NEW CAVE SALAMANDER, 8PELERPES STEJXEGERI, FROM THE CAVES OF SOUTHWESTERN MISSOURI* Bt GAEL H. EIGENMANN WITH TWO PLATES Through the courtesy of the officials of the Frisco R. R.and a grant from the Elizabeth Thompson Science Fund Imade two trips to the cares of southwestern Missouri insearch of Typhlotriton and Troglichthys. At that time I col-lected in various caves a species of Salamander which is heredescribed as new. In Wilsons cave, near Sarcoxie, Missouri, Ifound this Salamander among the rocks which dam the streamat the mouth of the cave. In Rock House cave I found it, withPlctJwdon glutinosus and Spelerpes macuUcaudus, under slabs ofrock which served as stepping-stones just within the mouthof the cave. In Fishers cave, near Springfield, I found itunder rocks in a part of the cave which served as a cellar. Ifound it also in a small well-shaped cave near Marble cave,Stone county, Missouri. I have recently received living speci-mens from near Marble cave. In all
