An important part of the field overlaps this line andextends down the northern side of the Missouri river, under-lying the greater part of Randolph, Howard, Boone and Audraincounties. In all, 34 counties produced coal during the year1903. Fig. 1 shows the position of the coal-fields in Missouri. Geological Features.
