Summary

[edit]
Description

At Museum of Flight, Boeing Field, Seattle.

The Lockheed Constellation was among the last of the great propeller-driven airliners. The Super Constellation added extra fuel capacity to extend range across the Atlantic. First built as a 1049C in 1954, it was delivered to Trans-Canada Air Lines (predecessor to today's Air Canada) the following year, later received upgrades to become the 1049G, and remained in service until 1963. After lying derelict in Toronto for decades, it was purchased by the Museum of Flight in 2001 and dismantled and trucked to Seattle in 2009. The exterior's restoration is complete, but the interior still needs to be fitted.
