English: Tramway bridge works at Station Street in the English city of Nottingham. The NET tramway currently terminates on the blue brick arches of the former Great Central Railway line north of Station Street. The footbridge linking the station and the tram stop has been removed and the 104m-long tramway bridge will shortly be inched across the station. A beam-and-slab concrete bridge (the Karlsruhe Friendship Bridge) will span Station Street, connecting the bridge and the existing tramway. There will be a new Station tram stop on the bridge over the station, linked to the Carrington Street concourse. Behind the access tower for the NET stop is Loxley House, the headquarters of Nottingham City Council. |
