| Description |
Rails recalling the first railway built by the Prussian state in 1851,connecting the various railway termini of Berlin, After the ringbahn was opened in 1871, it was decommissioned. In 1873 the Great Berlin Horse railway AG opened its second route here, from 1898 in parallel with new electric trams. The last horse tram ran here in August 1901 leaving the rails entirely to electric tram. Between 1902 and 1953, numerous tram routes operated along the street, the last operation being the 21 which ceased due to the economic division of Berlin, replaced by bus route 24. |
