| Description |
At the National Tramway Museum in Crich. The Museum started in the 1950s / 60s when most of the old tram networks in the cities of the UK were being closed down. The Tramway Museum Society was formed in the late 1940s when the decline began and they started to purchase the trams, track etc. The Crich site came to the attention of the society in the late 1950s. They later purchased the site. A look around the Tram Depots. Leeds 399 from 1926. Leeds City Tramways A Leeds "Hamilton Air-brake" car. The second tram to arrive at Crich, it underwent a lengthy restoration, returning to service only in 1990, and then repaired and returned again to service in 2011. |
