The first electric tram in Berlin commenced operation in 1895, by Siemens and Halske, Gesundbrunnen- Pankow, followed in 1896 by a route from Berlin to Treptow. In 1899 the Berliner Elektrische Strassenbahn AG was founded and took over these routes. In 1901 the Pankow route was extended south the the city centre and north to Rosenthal and to this newly built tram depot . This is this 1901 tram highly significant in the history of this depot |
