[edit]DescriptionTraining for On-Site Inspections (4-15 March 2013) (8567974829).jpg |
Trainees receive comprehensive training on the use of the Geoprobe augering equipment, which allows inspectors to make boreholes in order to extract samples of subsoil gases. The samples are then analysed in the base of operations for relevant radionuclides, such as xenon and argon, which might serve as indicators of a recent nuclear explosion. Credit: M Prah\CTBTO |
