Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Photograph of the Training School building that operated at East Texas State Normal College from 1917-1948. It served grades one through twelve and functioned as a laboratory school for the teacher-training program. Faculty members and “room teachers” oversaw lessons taught by education majors. In 1948, President Gee decided to eliminate the expensive program and send prospective teachers to train at area public schools instead.
