日本語: 阿里山鐵道橋梁。運材織道として有名な阿里山鐵道は獨立山にある。谷間を通ずる木橋で檜材を以て造られ其上を汽車が通ずるのである。下を見れば數百尺の谷底で身の毛のよだつを覺える。（松倉鐵藏，臺灣總督府博物館館員）
