Description
English: On 14th of March my country celebrated what we call " The summer day", a pagan holiday. It marks the end of winter and the start of the warmer seasons. It originates in my city, Elbasan, thus we have special traditions on that day. We prepare ballakume, a big cookie made of butter, sugar,eggs and cornflour, open the door early in the morning so the "good" can enter, and put some flowers on our door.

In the early morning of that day, I visit the oldest neighbor, a tradition that I follow for almost 25 years. She gives me one spoon of sugar, so I can have a sweet summer. And like every year, she has prepared the gift box, with sweets, ballakume and flowers.

It is important to save and celebrate this traditions of or culture. They bring pure joy.

Elbasanasit zgjohen herët më 14 mars dhe me një përkushtim të veçantë hapin derën që të futet e mira dhe të dalë e liga. Çdo vit Nena Iko më pret me një luge sheqer, që i gjithë viti të shkojë ëmbël,dhe më lidh në dorë veroren dy ngjyrëshe. Gjithashtu, një zakon tjetër që ruhet në këtë ditë, është zierja e vezëve natën e datës 13 dhe larja e syve me ujin e vezëve të ziera në mëngjesin e ditës së verës. Dhe sërish si çdo vit, ajo ka përgatitur shportën e gjërave të mira që bashkë me një lule të vogël simbolizojnë futjen e begatisë, mirësisë dhe natyrës në shtëpi.

Të mos i lëmë të humbasin këto tradita të vjetra festash të racës sonë.

Nuk i bëjnë dëm njeriu, veçse sjellin një gëzim të kulluar.
