Bahasa Indonesia: Bepupur adalah salah satu rangkaian upacara adat perkawinan bagi calon pengantin suku Tidung yang ada di Kalimantan Utara, Indonesia. Sebelum melaksanakan akad nikah. Acara ini dilakukan pada malam hari dirumah calon pengantin pria ataupun wanita. Pupur dingin yang dibuat sendiri oleh keluarga akan diberikan pada sekujur tubuh dan wajah calon pengantin yang dilakukan oleh para tetua atau orang tua/ yang dituakan baik sepuh lelaki ataupun sepuh wanita. Dalam prosesi acara bepupur akan diiringi dengan kesenian hadrah dan japing. Makna bepupur pada acara ini adalah untuk membersihkan diri untuk mempersiapkan diri menuju mahligai rumah tangga bagi kedua mempelai pengantin agar kelak menjadi keluarga sakinah. Bepupur merupakan cerminan dari kebersihan jiwa dan berpikir positif. |
