English: Col. Tracy R. Norris assumed the duties of Chief of Staff for the 36th Infantry Division (Light), Austin, Texas, in July 2008. Norris began her military service career in 1984 when she received an Army ROTC scholarship at Florida State University. After graduating from FSU with a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology in 1987, Norris went on to receive her Masters of Science in Urban and Regional Planning (1991). She has attended the Chemical Officer Basic Course, Company Pre-Command Course, Tactical Intelligence Familiarization Course, Engineer Officer Advanced Course, Combined Arms and Services Staff School, Adjutant General School-Officer Branch Qualification, Army Command and General Staff College Four Phase Reserve Component Course (top 10%), Defense Strategy Course-Army War College, Engineer Battalion Pre-Command Course, Human Resource Management Qualification Course, and the United States Army War College. Norris was assigned to the 122d RAOC in the Georgia Army National Guard, where she served as the Chemical Team Chief. In June of 1990, she was assigned to the 53rd Signal Brigade, Florida Army National Guard, where she served as the Assistant Chemical Officer, until December 1990. In January 1991, she was assigned as the Maintenance Control Officer for the 708th MT Company (GS) (LE), FLARNG. In September 1991, she was assigned to the State Environmental Program Manager as a Federal Technician with the FLARNG. In November 1993, Norris was selected for AGR Title 10 at the National Guard Bureau, as Environmental Specialists PM, Environmental Division. In August 1995 she was selected for the NGB Command Leadership Program and became Commander of the 180th Engineer Det (Utilities), in the Massachusetts Army National Guard while concurrently served as Project Manager, Environmental Impact Statement on Title 32 AGR.
