This Toyota Estima minivan has two license plates. The yellow fiberglass plate is similar to those issued in the UK, and made up of Roman alphabet and Arabic numerals, standard Hong Kong plates. Just like in the UK, the front plate would be white. The black plate is from Guangdong Province, China. The Z indicates that the vehicle is a Hong Kong or Macau vehicle allowed to travel to mainland China, and the 港 ("harbor," the "Kong" in Hong Kong) character stands for Hong Kong. This duplicate registration is necessary before a Hong Kong vehicle can travel to Shenzhen or any other part of mainland China. |
