Summary
[edit]DescriptionTowpath below Tyrley Bottom Lock, Shropshire - geograph.org.uk - 1591127.jpg |
English: Towpath below Tyrley Bottom Lock, Shropshire. As the Shropshire Union Canal approaches the bottom lock of the Tyrley flight near Market Drayton, it is cut directly into the rock, which is exposed on both sides. For about two hundred metres the walls are overshadowed by trees, and the rock faces receive little or no sun. The canal was opened in 1835.
