Description

Again, it is interesting to note that the East Window was largely filled in and used for memorial plaques. The fairly major works to restore the form of the window are not mentioned anywhere in Historic Scotland interpretation material... Why not? I think it's fascinating!

The guide does state that, 'The lower parts of some of the presbytery windows were blocked at some time in the priory's history. In the case of the tall east windows, this might have been related to the installation of the retable.'

The installation of a retable would, of course, only required the blocking of the lower parts of the window.
