Description

Tours (Indre-et-Loire)

Place François Sicard.

Ce petit jardin clos, juste en face du musée des Beaux-Arts, a été créé en 1864 par le paysagiste Eugène Bühler.

La création de ce jardin sera discutée et décidée par le Conseil Municipal le 22 janvier 1854 suite à une pétition et une souscription de 4500 Francs des habitants du quartiers.

En 1863, la municipalité confie le projet du square à Eugène Bühler, un paysagiste d'origine suisse et de renommée internationale.

François Sicard était un sculpteur, prix de Rome en 1891, né à Tours en 1862.
