Au fond à droite, le beffroi ; à gauche, la statue de Christine de Lalaing ; à gauche et au fond, les tours de la cathédrales*
La Grand'place est l'ancien théâtre des évènements glorieux, fastueux ou tragiques. Henri VIII y fit dresser sa tente lors d'un tournoi ; Philippe II et les archiducs Albert et Élisabeth y firent leurs serments de Joyeuses Entrées ; Louis XIV et Louis XV y passèrent ; les volontaires de 1789 et 1830 y eurent leur lieu de rassemblement.
  • *Ouest → (à gauche et derrière : Tour Brunin ; à gauche et devant : Tour de la Treille.
    Est → À droite et derrière : Tour du Carillon ou Tour St Jean de style Roman XIIème siècle ; à droite et devant : Tour Marie, la cloche Marie Pontoise s'y trouvant.
    Entre les quatre tours :Tour Centrale ou Tour Lanterne, la plus ancienne.
