  • "Les piédroits de la Porte Mantile comportent respectivement deux colonnes cannelées entre lesquelles apparaissent des personnages superposés accompagnés d’inscriptions identificatrices. À gauche, l’Humilité (HVMIL[I]TAS)󰀲 domine l’Orgueil (SVPERBIA) ; à droite, la Chasteté ( CASTI[TAS]), la Luxure ([L]VXVRIA). Castitas tient une pierre dans la main droite levée ; quant à Luxuria, frappée au front, elle porte une torche enflammée.-...."
