Français : La tour Hexagonale fut édifiée par un entrepreneur de Brignoles, le sieur Caron, entre 1517 et 1546.
D’une hauteur de 27 mètres, elle est composée de 3 étages identiques, reliés par un escalier intérieur. Tout en haut, on peut voir six hautes baies étroites en plein cintre. A chaque extrémité de l’entablement, on remarque les vestiges de gargouilles sculptées. L’édifice est accolé à l’ancienne église Notre-Dame de Nazareth. Cette tour a été un clocher et on la distingue sur une carte de 1612. C’est un campanile à la mode italienne qui devait sans doute également servir de poste d’observation, de vigie. Sur la droite, on remarque l’hôtel-Dieu, ancien presbytère. On trouve mention de la maison claustrale vers le XVème siècle. |
