Description
Français : L'hôpital psychiatrique Gérard Marchant à Toulouse (1852-1864) fut originellement appelé asile de Braqueville.

L'architecte Jacques-Jean Esquié conçut un hôpital modèle, chef-d’œuvre d'esthétisme et de rationalité reconnu internationalement. Deux axes symétriques s'organisaient autour de la cour d'honneur, de la chapelle et des bâtiments administratifs, l'un pour les femmes et l'autre pour les hommes.

Suivant les principes de l'aliéniste toulousain Jean-Étienne Esquirol, les différentes pathologies mentales étaient séparées dans divers pavillons pour faciliter les soins curatifs.
English: The Gérard Marchant psychiatric hospital in Toulouse (1852-1864) was originally called the Braqueville asylum.

The architect Jacques-Jean Esquié designed a model hospital, an internationally recognized masterpiece of aestheticism and rationality. Two symmetrical axes were organized around the main courtyard, the chapel and the administrative buildings, one for women and the other for men.

Following the principles of the Toulouse alienist Jean-Etienne Esquirol, the different mental pathologies were separated in different pavilions to facilitate curative care.

El arquitecto Jacques-Jean Esquié diseñó un modelo de hospital, una obra maestra de estética y racionalidad reconocida internacionalmente. Alrededor del patio principal, la capilla y los edificios administrativos se organizaban dos ejes simétricos, uno para las mujeres y otro para los hombres.

Siguiendo los principios del alienista tolosano Jean-Etienne Esquirol, las diferentes patologías mentales se separaron en diferentes pabellones para facilitar la atención curativa.
