Summary
[edit]DescriptionTosca Cafe 242 Columbus Avenue.jpg |
English: The Tosca Cafe at 242 Columbus Avenue at the corner of Saroyan Place in the North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco, California opened in 1921. The kitchen closed in 1953, and when it appeared that the long-time owner of the bar, Jeannette Etheredge, would have to close the establishment, it was taken over and the kitchen reopened in 2013 by two New Yorkers, Ken Friedman (Outstanding Restauranteur, 2016) and April Bloomfield (James Beard Foundation Best Chef in New York, 2014), who spent millions of dollars restoring it.
