Description
English: Die Stadtmauer am Obertor (Kreuzung Gartenstr./Ringleber Str.). Die Gasse entlang der historischen Stadtmauer nennt man Torwand, sie führt parallel zur Ringlebener Straße kreuzt die Mittelstraße und führte durch die Gärten der Trifftstraße bis zum Untertor am Ende der Bahnstraße. Die Mittelstraße mit dem Mitteltor stellte einen weiteren Zugang zur Stadt dar. Der westliche Teil entlang der Nordhäuser Str. ist noch gut erhalten. Vom Obertor führte die Stadtmauer entlang der B4 (Nordhäuser Str. ) bis zur ehemaligen Mahlgera. Die weiterführende Schlossmauer sicherte die Stadt nach Norden vor unliebsamen Gästen ab
