The Torres del Paine National Park, located in the southern Chilean Patagonia, was declared a Biosphere reserve by UNESCO in 1978. With its many mountains, glaciers, lakes, and rivers it has become one of the most visited parks in Chile.

Description
English: The Torres del Paine National Park, located in the southern Chilean Patagonia, was declared a Biosphere reserve by UNESCO in 1978. With its many mountains, glaciers, lakes, and rivers it has become one of the most visited parks in Chile. This Copernicus Sentinel-2 image acquired in the middle of February 2020 shows the status of snow and ice during the austral summer. With a revisit time of five days on average at the Equator, the Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellites deliver crucial data that can be used to monitor climate change and its impacts.
