Español: El cargo de Merino Mayor de las Asturias de Santillana, juez territorial, lo ostentó el linaje de los Barreda. La torre (s. XIV) presenta el carácter defensivo de la época. La Torre de Don Borja (s. XV), perteneció a otro Barreda, don Borja Barreda, titular del mayorazgo de la familia. (Construyeron capilla en la Colegiata)
