Description

A Torre de Maneys foi construída no século XVI, e pensa-se ter sido uma torre armazém do Castelo de Óbidos. A Torre em pedra está ligada à casa em frente por uma ponte coberta. Óbidos era um sítio de passeio, e os meus Pais e os amigos vinham com frequência. Um dia encontraram a torre em ruínas, e a casa em frente, à venda e decidiram comprá-las. Desde 1964 é a casa de férias da família e dos amigos. O escritor e jornalista Manuel Gondim, um amigo e entusiasta das férias em Óbidos, baptizou a casa “Torre de Maneys”, e escreveu um poema sobre o nome. Achou uma coincidência extraordinária o facto de 6 pessoas da casa, entre amigos e família terem o mesmo nome “Manuel”. Os cinco quartos da casa têm os nomes deles.
