Italiano: Intorno al 1400, Ferdinando D'Aragona concesse al Barone Raffaele Guarini, di Lecce, la terra di Torre S. Susanna e il distrutto Casale di Galesano. Il Barone fece costruire un palazzo nei pressi della Torre Angioina e precisamente nel luogo che ancora oggi viene denominato "li trappiti vecchi". Intorno al 1550 il feudo di Torre S. Susanna passò alla famiglia Dormio di Lecce. Il Barone Tiberio Dormio, nel 1558, ritenendo il vecchio palazzo baronale troppo piccolo, iniziò la costruzione di un altro, l'attuale e impropriamente detto castello, che non portò a termine. La famiglia Dormio, per ignoti motivi, cedette queste terre al principe Carmine De Angelis di Mesagne, il quale lo completò. Intorno al 1800 il feudo passò ai Conti Filo di Napoli, i quali apportarono delle modifiche al palazzo, come, per esempio, la costruzione dei merli per dargli l'aspetto di un castello; fecero scavare, a pochi metri di distanza, verso nord-est, delle grotte, dove d'inverno veniva accumulata della neve per essere usata durante il soggiorno estivo. Su queste grotte sono sorte in seguito delle abitazioni e la via oggi è denominata via "Neviera". Questo palazzo baronale fu abitato dai Conti Filo, quasi esclusivamente d'estate, fino ai primi anni del 1900, quindi rimase in mano fino agli anni '60 alle sorelle Rodi e al custode Pompeo Vita. Successivamente fu acquistato dalla famiglia D'Ippolito di Latiano . Oggi è stato trasformato in rinomato resort dalla famiglia Trinchera di Torre Santa Susanna. |
