Español: Desde 1863 circulaban por Torralba del Moral (Soria) los primeros trenes de la compañía MZA entre Madrid y Zaragoza, aunque sin estación en aquel lugar. Para unir la capital soriana con esta línea de MZA, en 1887 se sacó a subasta una nueva concesión, a la que tan solo se presentó el proyecto del empresario belga Édouard Otlet, que naturalmente ganó el concurso.
Comenzaban así los trabajos de construcción del ferrocarril Torralba-Soria cuando en 1888 durante las obras de canalización de aguas para la primitiva estación de enlace entre ambas líneas se descubrieron en Torralba los restos de un yacimiento paleontológico del Pleistoceno. Finalmente en 1892 se inauguró la línea, aunque su estación de cabecera en Torralba no entraría en servicio hasta 1904. Pocos años después, en 1909, el Marqués de Cerralbo comenzaba las primeras excavaciones arqueológicas junto a aquella estación, con cierta repercusión internacional de sus hallazgos. Como resultado inédito, varias fotografías de la efeméride muestran al jefe de Estación D. Ángel Pérez Carretero posando con sobriedad junto al propio Marqués de Cerralbo y a otras personalidades elegantes y trabajadores. De aquella estación no queda nada, medio siglo después se hizo la variante de Horna, convirtiéndose en carretera un tramo del trazado ferroviario en desuso. Junto con la variante, en 1959 se inauguraba la fabulosa nueva estación de Torralba del Moral, desconcertante en aquel paraje por su tamaño, sus fachadas porticadas y sus cuatro torres que parece que quieran defenderla del general invierno. El nuevo túnel de Horna, de los más largos de la red convencional española, desemboca en una playa de vías ante la fachada vértice del edificio de viajeros, que hace de cuña para bifurcar ambas líneas poniendo orden en los carriles deshilachados: un lado para el andén de Soria y el otro para el de Zaragoza y Barcelona.
