English: Lt. Cmdr. Vinh T. Ton, dentist for 1st Dental Battalion, receives the LTJG Weedon E. Osborne award from Maj. Gen. Vincent A. Coglianese, commanding general for 1st Marine Logistics Group at Pacific Views Event Center aboard Camp Pendleton, Calif, March 27, 2015. The award is earned by a dental officer who makes significant contributions to operational readiness. It is presented annually by the Marine Corps Association. The award is named in honor of Lt. j.g. Weedon E. Osborne, Dental Corps, U.S. Navy, who was killed in action during the battle of Belleau Wood in France in 1918. “When I reflect upon the pool of other extraordinarily dedicated and talented practitioners nominated for this award, words cannot express the depth of my humility for having been chosen for this honor,” said Ton. “I would like to share the honor of this award with all those who were also nominated, truly any of you could have been selected for this award.” |
