Description

العربية: تقع بالقرب من الأقصرفي البر الغربي للنيل على الضفة الغربية لأسوان مصرو هى مقابر صخرية كانت لحكام اسوان والفنتين ورجال الدولة من عسكريين ومدنيين وكهنة وكتبة وغيرهما . تم اكتشفها عام 1885 و1886 على يد اللورد والباحث البريطاني "سير فرانسيس جرينفيل"، كما اكتشفت عدة قبور أخرى نتيجة عمليات البحث والاستكشاف المتتالية، فكان من ضمن المعتقدات عند المصريين القدماء بأن الشرق يمثل شروق الشمس أى جانب الحياة أما الجانب الغربى يعنى غروب الشمس هو الموت، فكانت المدافن معظمها فى الجهة الغربية، فهذه المقابر عبارة عن مجموعتين من الأمراء والحكام البوابة الجنوبية بالفنتين، إبتدء من الأسرة الثالثة وحتى الأسرة السادسة فى الدولة القديمة منذ عهد آخر ملوك الأسرة السادسة "بيبى الثانى"،
