Description
Français : THIBAULT François, (1835-1881), caporal des sapeurs-pompiers, né le 9 février 1835 à Chatillon sur Cher, (Loir et Cher), décédé le 20 mai 1881 à Saint-Mandé.

Il est fils de Sylvain Thibault et de Marie Blanchet.

8 août 1868 : Au cours d'un incendie rue Saint-Antoine, le caporal Thibault sauve plusieurs personnes au moyen de son échelle à crochet et d'une prouesse hors du commun. L'exploit rejaillit sur le prestige du Régiment. Le caporal Thibault devient le symbole national du sauveteur.
