Summary

[edit]
Description A far view of Yahya Bakuvi tomd and the attached Keygubad Mosque in the grounds of the Sirvansahlar Palace. This building was a mosque-cum-madrasah joined to the Dervish´s Tomb built by Farrukh Yasar. It was previously known as a courtroom or divankhana. The tomb was situated in the southern part of the mosque. There is a rectangular prayer hall and a small corridor in front of the mosque. The dome stands on four columns in the centre of the hall. Historian Abbasgulu Bakikhanov wrote that Yahya Bakuvi (a well known Sufi saint in these parts) taught and prayed in the mosque. The cell where he prayed, the school where he worked and his grave are there, in the mosque. Keygubad Shirvanshah ruled from 1317 to 1343 and was Sheikh Ibrahim´s grandfather. (Baku, Azerbaijan, Sept. 2017)
