English: Tomb of Sir John Soane, St Pancras Old Church The tomb of Sir John Soane, architect of the Dulwich Picture Gallery and developer of the house which became the Sir John Soane Museum. This mausoleum was erected in 1816 after Sir John's wife died in 1815, and is one of only two Grade I listed monuments in London. It is said that the design of the tomb inspired the design of British telephone boxes. |
