Description
Français : Tombeau ayant renfermé le cerveau de Jacques II et VII de Grande-Bretagne (1633-1701), mort en exil à Saint-Germain en Laye (France), dans la chapelle Saint-André de l'ancien Collège des Écossais, aujourd'hui école Sainte Geneviève à Paris Vème arrondissement. L'urne funéraire et les décorations de bronze ont disparu.


Plaque à la mémoire de très Auguste Prince Jacques II, roi de Grande Bretagne etc..., qui célèbre sa foi catholique, son courage dans l'adversité malgré la trahison, sa douceur et sa patience, son élévation d'esprit, son soutien au Collège des Ecossais, et le legs qu'il fit de cette partie de son corps d'où émane la force de l'esprit.
Il vécut 68 ans, régna 16 ans, et mourut le 17 des calendes d'octobre de l'année du salut de l'humanité 1701


Monument élevé par Jacques, duc de Perth, préfet du Collège, où le prétendant Jacques III, bienfaiteur de l'établissement, vint "tristement" déposer l'urne contenant le cerveau de son père.
English: Repository for the brain of James II & VII of Great Britain and Ireland, exiled by the Glorious Revolution in France where he died in 1701. This monument is in the chapel of the former "Collège des Ecossais" (Scots College), now a school in the 5th arrondissement of Paris. It was built by order of James Drummond, Earl of Perth.
