Title
Chapter House window
Description
The window of the Chapter Room lighted a room used as a sacristy for the Church of the Convent of Christ during the works undertaken by King Manuel Ist to glorify the discoveries of Portuguese navigators from the XVth to the XVIth century. Its design is attributed to Diogo de Aruda, assisted by João de Castilho. As in the Middle Ages, Diogo de Arruda would have left this sailor in his effigy as a mark.
