Description
English: I have been criticised for showing older houses in their old form, rather than as the restored ones that are often presented as “historic house” or “Ottoman house”. Some of those I have seen being restored with concrete where it should have been stone or more likely adobe or wood. So, I present this and other pictures, taken in 2004 in mainly uphill neighbourhoods of Tokat with their year. Yes. A lot will have changed. The streets will still be there, but the pavement has changed to say the least. Houses got a new coat of paint or were “restored” or simply destroyed.
