| Description |
English: Toft Monks drainage mill - the owl box. Owl nesting box affixed beside the boat-shaped cap. Note also the much smaller hole right below the gable which invites smaller birds to nest here also - they will be perfectly safe because Screech Owls feed on insects mostly, while Barn Owls eat mainly mice, shrews and voles, and owls generally have a hunting territory away from their daytime roost. I spotted the resident pair of owls > 1803661 but was unable to determine the species.
