English: To the Harbour, Victoria Road The remains of an old metal road made up of large red sandstone blocks was exposed 30cm beneath Victoria Road. It has been suggested that the road from Quality Street to Victoria Road is the oldest road in the burgh. Artifacts found in Quality Street included a whale bone scarred with the marks of a implement similar to a cooking knife. |
